Sen. Stack Welcomes Delegates from the Russian Federation to Capitol

State Sen. Mike Stack today welcomed members of the Delegation from the Russian Federation Embassy, including members of the Republic of Bashkortostan Delegation, to the state Capitol.

Stack introduced the guests on the Senate floor: Rinat Dosmukhamedov, a minister and counselor at the Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the USA; Mikhai Kalugin, head of Economic Group at the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the USA; Aydar Shakirov, chief of Economic Section at the Trade Representation of the Russian Federation in the USA; Mustafin Akhat Gazizvanovish, rector of Bashkir State University; and I.A. Tazhitdinov, deputy prime minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan.

The group attended with delegation coordinators Alan Gulko and Irina Strumila from Avangard Capital Group in Northeast Philadelphia and local businessman Demitry Poteryahin.

The guests visited the Capitol to connect with Pennsylvania lawmakers and foster positive relations between the commonwealth and the Republic of Bashkortostan.

“It was an honor welcoming the delegation to Pennsylvania,” Stack said. “In this global economy, it’s important that we have friendships with nations, especially if we want to improve trade relations.” Stack noted that Bashkortostan produces the largest amount of oil and is also the top agricultural producing Republic in the Russian Federation.

Tazhitdinov spoke on the Senate floor about the importance of fostering good will between the two nations.
